Pergola Project, Private Residence in Marousi | Athens

Design Pergola recently completed a residential pergola project in Athens, transforming the constructionally demanding outdoor space on the top floor of an apartment.

Given the unique architectural layout, we approached different sections of the space individually to meet their specific functional and aesthetic needs. By carefully selecting and combining various pergola designs and models, we ensured that each area served its intended purpose while maintaining a cohesive overall look. The result is a harmonious yet versatile outdoor space that perfectly aligns with the client's vision.

The final result consists of three distinct pergola models, each selected to serve different functional needs within the space.

On one side of the rooftop, where constant shading is not required throughout the day, we installed the fixed louvered pergola DP Vienna. This model, constructed entirely from aluminum frames and aluminum louvers, offers a sleek and durable shading solution.

We chose the Essential model from Tarasola for the remaining uncovered area. It's a sophisticated yet modern bioclimatic pergola, selected for its ability to provide both shading and reliable protection against all weather conditions. With its adjustable rotating louvers (ranging from 0 to 135 degrees) by its electrical mechanism, it allows users to control the amount of sunlight entering the space, adapting to different times of the day.

To enhance comfort and functionality, we integrated the horizontal cassette SCREENY 130 GPZ TENS TO, combined with the vertical awning SCREENY 110 GPZ by KE, offering additional sun protection and a sense of privacy without restricting the view and natural light, providing the perfect balance between shade and openness.

The final result reflects an outdoor space that maintains continuity with the main building through the simplicity of the construction's aesthetics.
